Carrie Sanderson is a wife, mother, attorney, and lifelong South Dakotan with over 15 years of experience serving her state. Carrie and her husband Jared—a fifth-generation South Dakota farmer—are raising their family in Flandreau, grounded in the values of faith, hard work, and service.
Carrie has dedicated her career to strengthening South Dakota communities through practical, community-driven solutions. She is a proud graduate of the University of South Dakota, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Public Administration, and Juris Doctor degrees. Carrie has served as a federal prosecutor, civil litigator, and public health leader and in these roles, she managed multimillion-dollar programs and helped shape legislation that protects children and strengthens families. Today, as a small business owner, Carrie works alongside nonprofits across the state to develop solutions that improve lives and expand opportunity.
Carrie’s leadership is guided by conservative principles, South Dakota values, and her deep commitment to families. Running as a Republican, she is active in the Moody County GOP and stands firmly for life, the Second Amendment, and strong support for law enforcement.
